We had a sunny and breezy day at Epworth Equestrian on Sunday to watch the Show Cross. This competition was in two parts and consisted of jumps in the ring against the clock then a X Country run with various jumps. This is the second time we have been here and I have just one question that puzzles me about the “horsey set” Why on earth are there so many flipping little dogs at these events?. Most are on leads but not all, in fact one went into the ring during the morning and the poor competitor thought she had been disqualified when the officials shouted for the dog to be removed and to get it under control. Poor lass was put righ of her stride! This story is mostly photographs of the horse..pony..girl..woman..pussy cat.. and yes a dog! So sit back cross your fetlocks and enjoy!
Belive me or not but her pal is on her knees behind platting her hair. So its not just the osses that have to look their best!
Great looking BIG horse
I just love the colours of this beauty, like splodges of brown ink in blotting paper, Id tell you what it is but Im not sure how to spell Appaloosa..Im told this is correct spelling but Im not too sure.
One of two good looking youngsters, brother and sister I think, in their stables behing the bacon buttie bar. Both under 2 years old.
It wasn’t all about the horses, pony’s and little dogs!
This little lady wound up the rubber band and went round the jumps at 100mph without a single fault I didnt wait to see the results, but I think maybe she won her class.
This my friend Kath on RIO executing a good clear round
Another familiar face. This is my friend Rhiannee after her X Country event. She doesnt seem to have a care for anything else in the world when riding her pony!
Rhiannee in the arena
Lisa showing that its great fun but actually hard work too riding in the Cross Country…..and theres me thinking the oss did all the work!!
On the Cross Country section now and striding out
Some of the fences were not just fences but boxes.. logs.. trailers.. sticks.. brushwood…. dolls houses..Interesting, colourful and sometimes a bit scary for some of the osses and pony’s
Oh yes.. and a small pond that made one or two think twice! Rhiannee and RUBEN thought it was nothing though and skipped straight through it.
Heading back down the long straight, and getting a lather on!
Heading back down the home straight
RUBEN gets a cuddle but would probably prefer an apple?
Apples? did someone mention apples?
Yah booo! says Elaine to the camera… not at all like her daughter!
